Gardendale Christian Fellowship Church is a body bound together by the love of Jesus Christ and is founded on two predominant scriptures:

John 3:16 & 17 - for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

We believe that these scriptures tell us that through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the promise of the coming Messiah through the prophets was fulfilled and that through the blood of Jesus Christ the atoning sacrifice was paid for all sin; past, present & future.

Ephesians 2:8 & 9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.

We accept these scriptures to mean that the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ fulfilled the requirements of the law set down by God through Moses. Salvation is a gift for the asking from Jesus Christ and cannot be earned and that the work we do here on earth is God working through us to spread the message of Jesus Christ. To quote Jesus from the book of Matthew we are to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned". (Matthew 16:15 & 16) The only way to salvation is through belief in Jesus Christ by faith and being baptized in the Holy Spirit, which is the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit in our hearts.

Baptism

We believe in submersion baptism because it is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We hold baptism to be an outward showing of an inner change symbolic of a choice to follow Jesus Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

Communion

We have open communion. As our name states, we are a non-denominational church and we hold that the only requirement for communion is a belief that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that all who profess Jesus are brothers and sisters in Christ.
